This cookbook came about because my husband was told by his doctor to lose 10 pounds, and he was handed the Reducing Diet #4. The don’t eat list was very long, compared to the able to eat list. He thought he’d starve while losing the weight.
I couldn’t let him go through it alone, so everyone in the family went on the diet. It was my job to figure out how to keep the meals interesting with the few items that were left for us to eat. And so began the process of recipe development and suitable food sourcing. Most recipes turned out very well, and so I decided to help others lose weight and I’ve published them in this book.
We never went hungry, and some days we ate like kings. My husband not only lost his 10 pounds, he lost 32!! I lost 13 pounds and my son lost somewhere just over 15 pounds – all in three months!
